Medical magnetism is a means of treating human beings by placing hands on the body of the "sick" person (also applies with great success to animals!).

This then consists in the transmission of a fluid, a force to heal the patient or at least relieve him.

We can make magnetism at a distance. If the person is unable to move, if it lives far away from the magnetizer, the use of remote magnetism has already proven itself.

A little history ?

This practice would already be over 5000 years old.

It is found in the highest antiquity ; likewise among the Greeks and Romans, those who have the "healing hand" are placed in high esteem.

In the Middle Ages, we practice magnetism! Clovis (466-511) and the kings of France: Philippe le bel, Francis I, Henry IV (who treated the scrofula : a disease of tuberculosis origin of the time) .... and kings of England would have had the gift of magnetism and treated subjects. In the 16th century appeared the formula "the king touches you, God heals you"!

At the same time, ordinary people, often humble and not necessarily knowing where this gift came from, perpetrated this practice of magnetism, often with great success and thus relieved many evils.

On the other hand, they have often been persecuted by the medical, ecclesiastical or political institution in place. But magnetism has crossed the centuries.

It was by a German physician Franz Anton Mesmer (1734-1815) who emphasized the existence of a fluid that could be channeled, stored and transmitted to other people that magnetism would have found letters from nobility until our days.

Mesmer was decried, he was also very successful and followers in his day : Charles Deslon, Nicolas Bergasse, Guillaume Kornmann, the Marquis de La Fayette who will export his ideas to the United States and others who will disseminate his knowledge in Europe, especially in Prussia, Russia and England.

His most active disciples : Armand Marie de Chastenet de Puységur, Joseph Philippe Deleuze, Charles Lafontaine, Alphonse Teste, Louis-Claude de Saint-Martin.... will spread his ideas a lot, fought by opponents of course and divided later also in various currents by James Braid or Ambroise-Auguste Liébeault in particular.

After the French Revolution, magnetism was lost a bit because of the major social unrest and will only increase again under Napoleon Bonaparte and the French Restoration that followed in the first third of the 19th century.

Closer to home in the 20th century, Russian scientists (Semyon and Valentina Kirlian in particular) and Americans (Dolores Krieger for example) have highlighted the very real effects of magnetism.
